Showtime Music of WV has been in the musical instrument and custom church sound business for 30 plus years. The safety of our employees, customers, students, and guests has always been a top priority. Even though we have taken strict measures for sanitation, we feel it is time to make additional changes.

Based on information from our Federal Government, Governor Justice, The WV Department of Health, The WHO, and The CDC, we feel this is a necessary action.

PIANO (violin, voice, etc.):

Roger VanMaasdam: Roger teaches piano, violin, voice, and other instruments here at Showtime Music. He also serves as the Music Department Chair at Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, WV. He has studied at Bob Jones University, Heart of America Bible College, Boston University, Westminster Choir College, and the Chicago School of Music at Roosevelt University. He is also the Fine Arts Directory for the West Virginia Christian Educators Association of Christian Schools.

Mr VanMaasdam has been teaching since the age of 15, and his love for teaching music is obvious as he works with students in the studio or the concert hall.

Joyce Pennington Joyce Pennington: Mrs. Pennington has been teaching piano for nearly fifty years, including ten years here at Showtime Music. She has a passion for nurturing future church pianists and keyboardists. She studied music at the Toronto Conservatory of Music in Canada and enjoys teaching students of all ages to enjoy the piano and share in her passion.

GUITAR (bass, mandolin, banjo, ukelele):

Dan Bailey: Dan is a career musician who has been playing, performing and teaching for over 50 years. He attended Berklee School of Music in Boston and West Virginia University, where he studied theory and composition.

He has performed in many varied musical settings as well as professional groups such as “Taylor Made”. He has extensive producing and arranging experience in local studios as well as in Nashville. Dan has taught guitar in the Beckley area for the past 36 years.

Jimmy Crabtree Jimmy Crabtree: Jimmy has been teaching for 16 years, offering instruction in guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, and ukelele. He has published magazine articles in Guitar World, Guitar F.T.P.M., and Guitar Player. Jimmy has performed both locally and outside West Virginia for radio, TV, live shows, as well as studio sessions. He currently plays with the band “Cheat River,” and loves his teaching as well as performing. You may reach him here at Showtime Music or via email at:


Tim Edwards: Tim serves as the lesson coordinator for Showtime Music, managing lesson requests, teaching staff, and our sheet music department. Tim studied music under a variety of instructors in Lima, Ohio, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. He has studied at the Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, and he received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Miami University in Ohio as a piano major.
He has taught music in the public schools as well as privately for over 30 years.

Tim has performed in gospel groups, church bands, for studio sessions, and at local and county fairs in Ohio. Tim is also a skilled arranger for band, orchestra, and church worship bands; and enjoys training worship bands in how to make the most of their gifts.
